If you spent much time in Noe Valley in the past few years, you are familiar with Jesse Zele, an elderly man who spent most of his time on a bench on 24th Street between Noe and Castro. He passed away in September, but residents of the neighborhood want to erect some sort of rememberance in his honor.
From SF Gate today, “His friends are determined to remember him publicly. Some are trying to put together a Jesse Zele Web site. Others are hoping to get a life-size statue built in Zele’s likeness and place it next to the bench.”
