Jazz club breaks ground

The long-awaited arrival of Yoshi's new jazz club in the Fillmore district is finally taking shape.

From the Chron today, "Yoshi's jazz club of Oakland broke ground Tuesday at the site of its second home, a planned 420-seat nightclub and a Japanese restaurant at the long-vacant corner of Fillmore and Eddy streets in San Francisco. The new club will open in 18 months, owners said, and will complement, not replace, the current Yoshi's, at 510 Embarcadero West in Oakland."
