Schools chief to take job at Columbia University

The Board of Supervisors didn't just drive her out of a job, they drove her out of town...

From SF Gate today, "San Francisco schools chief Arlene Ackerman is headed for New York, where she will be a professor in Columbia University's Teaching College, training future school administrators."

"I'm going back to the East Coast where they treat me better, where they love me," said Ackerman, who previously helmed public schools in Washington, D.C. "And there will be no late school board meetings!"
