Golf center will drive no more

Mission Bay’s famous driving range is finally falling victim to the development around UCSF.

From today’s Chronicle, “The Mission Bay Golf Center has been the home of a popular driving range since 1992, but the double-decked facility is closing at the end of March to make way for the next phase of the Mission Bay development plan.”

“Streets, sidewalks, sewers, a water pumping station and perhaps a new elementary school are to replace the 66 tee boxes and 85-foot netting next to Highway 280, according to Mission Bay developer ProLogis.”
