What a shame…

and this pretty much sums it up:
Where did all of those new voters go last night? Daly won his last election with around 6,000 votes. He will be lucky to get that many this time. And Rob Black identified 7,000+ registered voters that were committed to voting for him. What happened?
And no, this is not about downtown money. This is about voter apathy. And it’s a real shame.

I drive through this district every day. It is a war zone. People drunk and fighting on the sidewalks. 80 year old woman crossing street with a short jacket and no pants on crossing street last night. I am embarrased for the city that such a place exists. I am shocked that the people did not get out to vote yesterday because during Daly’s term I have watched situation stay the same or get worse. And I know there is money flowing from all the SOM developement. I spoke to one friend that lives and owns by the ballpark and was clueless about the race. He claimed his voter registration was in SM. But if I owned down there I would have had my whole block going to vote for Black. Then you have the Trinity project shot down after it was agreed to? That is good for my rental units but I got to beleive that was not MCTic’s motivations. We got a great regime change in DC but SF is moving in the wrong direction.
