Does Your Realtor Have a Clean Record?
SFHomeBlog is featuring Herman Chan, from Habitat for Hermanity as a guest video blogger because it’s an important topic not many consumers know about, and let’s face it, the guy is entertaining!
For super easy license look up go to the Department of Real Estate web site at www.DRE.Ca.Gov there’s a button on top called ‘Real Estate License Look Up’. The direct link to the look up page is here: All you need is your agent’s DRE license number which as of July 2009 is required by California Law to be on all points of first contact, including business cards.
It’s a great way to do your own due diligence in choosing an agent. For the voyeurs, you can also find out, how long an agent has held their license, and if any disciplinary action has been taken against them. Given the value an agent can add, or subtract from a crucial financial decision, it’s amazing more buyers and sellers do not do it.
